Dana Sparks Welch started dancing at the age of six and hasn’t stopped since. She took classes, conventions, workshops and competed as much as she could. She has studied ballet, tap and jazz extensively throughout her career as well as Hip Hop, Lyrical and Musical Theater. Dana was also a competitive gymnast , cheerleader and president of thespians in high school. Throughout her years in school and early years of college she won numerous awards and performed throughout the US and Europe including The North Sea Jazz Festival, and in various shows such as "42nd St.", "George M.", "Pippin", "Working" and "Noises Off", among others. At the age of 19 Dana acquired her childhood studio and owned and operated Dance Center of Deer Park for 18 years before she began teaching for TUTS/River. Dana teaches all over Houston and surrounding areas and has judged numerous dance competitions such as I Love Dance, KARR, Showstoppers and Champion Dance, which she continues to judge every year. Dana choreographs shows for local schools and theaters ( The Wiz, Oklahoma, Godspell, Adams Family, Beauty and the Beast). She also choreographed a group of dancers to perform a 30 minute show on Carnival Cruise Line. Currently she teaches at The River and the Humphrey School of Musical Theater as well as Classes in the Community and various other projects. Dana loves to share her passion for dance and musical theater with students of all ages and abilities! She is an especially proud mom of two children.
Isabel Wallace-Green
Classical Ballet | Technique | Contemporary | Jazz | Lyrical
Originally from Houston, Texas, Isabel Wallace-Green began dancing at Houston Ballet Academy where she studied for nine years. She attended St. John’s School and summer programs at Boston Ballet School and Dance Theatre of Harlem before graduating summa cum laude from Fordham University/The Ailey School (official school of Alvin Ailey American Dance Theater) with a dual degree BFA in Dance and African/African American Studies. While in New York City, Isabel has performed with the Alvin Ailey American Dance Theater, as an ensemble member of the Radio City Christmas Spectacular Starring the Radio City Rockettes, and toured with New Chamber Ballet. She has assisted children's division Ballet classes at Houston Ballet Academy and The Ailey School, taught Ballet and Creative Movement at SMA Dance Academy and WR Arts in NYC, and led Horton-Based Modern Master Classes at Houston high schools.
Isabel also enjoys drawing and videography; she recently began presenting her artwork. After gaining knowledge and insight from working with world-renowned dance companies, she is excited to return to her hometown and guide young performers at Spark!
Dana Cretsigner
Musical Theatre
Originally from Iowa, Dana Stephens started dancing at three and began performing on stage professionally when she was nine years old. By the time she finished high-school she had already performed many coveted female roles for numerous theatres nationwide. She studied Vocal Performance at Oklahoma City University which is world-renowned for its demanding and professional vocal training, producing award-winning vocalists such as Metropolitan Opera legend Leona Mitchell, Chris Merrit, Marquita Lister, Sarah Coburn, and Broadway superstars Kristin Chenoweth and Kelli O'Hara.While in Oklahoma she also studied dance under OCU's Patricia Oplotnik and Billie Thrash winning numerous awards in competitions. In 2007 she became teaching certified in Speech Level Singing (SLS Level 1) and KinderMusik. In addition to training and experience Dana owned, operated and taught piano, dance and voice at Academy of Music & Dance in Oklahoma. She has worked and collaborated with multiple, award winning recording artists. Many of her past students have recorded albums that have been featured on soundtracks or received radio air time and several are currently acting in shows in New York, dancing in Disney, performing in Branson, MO, or acting in film in California.

Sonia Engman
Sonia Engman is a professional choreographer, performer, and educator. Modern dance, ballet, and street styles such as Hip Hop, House and Breaking are the basis of Sonia’s movement knowledge. Sonia received her B. A. in Contemporary Dance with a minor in Arts Management in 2016 from the University of New Mexico where she had the opportunity to work with many artists such as Vladimir Conde Reche, Donna Jewell, Mary Anne Santos Newhall, and Erika Pujic. She traveled to Sölden, Austria with UNM’s Head of Dance, Donna Jewell, to perform in a multi-disciplinary and multimedia performance in the Alps of Austria. She was cast in multiple roles in the dance program’s Faculty Dance Concert as a soloist and in ensemble work.
Sonia relocated to Kansas in 2017 and became an official member of TigerStyle! Crew- a nationally based dance crew- and performed for video projects, live stage performances including the Young Choreographer’s Showcase at Symphony Space in New York City, hip hop battles, and other events since. Sonia has taught many styles of dance to both children and adults in Lawrence, KS and in the greater Kansas City area. She has also taught intensives and workshops in many other cities like Helena, Montana, Phoenix, Arizona, St. Louis, Missouri and South Padre Island, Texas. She has choreographed works for the University of New Mexico and e2 Dance Company in Kansas, City. Sonia relocated to Houston, Texas in August 2019 to begin another adventure in search of opportunity and growth. She believes she must always remain a student to continually expand her knowledge and skills to break boundaries and to better herself and her students.
Lacey Flowers
Classical Ballet
Lacey Flowers Lacey Flowers was born in Maracaibo, Venezuela and was introduced to dance at age eight, but did not start her classical ballet training until the age of 21. She completed her Bachelor of Arts degree in Dance from Texas Tech University in 1986 under the direction of Peggy Willis. She has been formally trained in the Teaching Method of Classical Ballet by Peggy Willis, and by John Barker, authorized translator of SCHOOL of Classical DANCE. Since 1998 to present, she has had the opportunity to teach classical ballet for Victoria Vittum at the Ballet Center of Houston. She has 30 years of experience in teaching all levels of ballet. She studied under the guidance of several well-known teachers, including spending several months studying ballet in Germany. She has taken her gift for dance to audiences across the United States, England and Scotland performing numerous pieces choreographed specifically for her. She had the honor of working with Galina Mezentseva, former Prima Ballerina of the Kirov Ballet, and was privately coached by Natalia Krasovska and Valery Panov. She was selected to perform the Peasant Pas de deux in Panov’s World Premiere performance of “Giselle”. She truly loves teaching and believes that it is never too late to learn!
