January 27th:
Update on rehearsal clothes and shoes.
For Boys:
Boys are asked to wear pants and character shoes or boots to rehearsal (they will need similar shoes for show as well). Men’s character shoes look like lace up dress shoes or tap shoes without the taps. You can often find similar shoes at secondhand or thrift stores or you can purchase your own if you choose.
Examples:
For Girls:
Girls will need to wear leggings or pants (please no shorts due to having to get on knees at times) to rehearsal. If you have your own rehearsal skirt (long circle skirt) please start wearing or bringing. You can find something at a thrift store, or you can order one if you choose.
Example below:
Girl’s shoes:
Girls will need to have low heeled character shoes, Victorian granny boots or a jazz shoe/boot. Please consider students height and if already tall go will a low or flat heel.
Specialty dancers and those doing waiters gallop (not yet assigned) will need to have both female character boot/shoe AND a black jazz boot/shoe. Often times you can find similar styles at thrift stores, or you can purchase new from Amazon if you choose.
Examples below:
Also, if you have any of these items that no longer fit, and would like to allow one of your cast mates to borrow, please let us know or bring them in.
