Update about the Theatre Program at Spark

We want to thank our community for all of the support we have received during this unexpected transition for our organization. Thank you to all of you (especially our students) who helped us move out of the building! We are excited to let you all in on our plans for the fall semester.

Due to new limitations of space, we will not be able to offer as many openings in our program. For this reason, we will no longer offer “open enrollment” productions for our after school program. We have considered many ways to navigate enrollment moving forward and we feel that it is in the best interest of our students that each individual audition for the program. This will give us the ability to meet the needs of our community in the best way possible. We have created the following performance groups and are excited about how these changes will elevate our program and provide new opportunities for our students to thrive!

Sparks

Sparks are young artists who are eager to learn, have great attitudes, and are focused on learning and developing skill and confidence. Our goal for this program is to give each child the best opportunity to grow and shine in a nurturing environment. Sparks will be comprised of a mixture of ages and levels of experience. We will be focused on creating or building on a solid foundation of the fundamentals of the performing arts.

Stars

Stars are comfortable with the fundamentals of performing and have shown commitment, aptitude, and work ethic. Stars will also be made up of a variety of ages and experience. Our emphasis in this program will be to expand on skills that have been mastered, learn how to work faster and more efficiently through material, build confidence and stage presence, and prepare for conservatory.

Conservatory

Our conservatory students are seeking a pre-professional experience in theater. Students are prepared, disciplined, and capable. Previous experience is required for conservatory. We welcome artists who are passionate about theater and love to work hard and be challenged to achieve their full potential. We look forward to offering opportunities for our conservatory students to perform in various exciting venues throughout their experience.

Performances

Performance opportunities for each group will change each semester. Please check out our plans for this spring with accompanying schedules and locations. We are excited to work with several community partners to provide our students with high quality training and performance opportunities.

Auditions

Auditions are right around the corner! We will be having auditions during the first two weeks of August. If you are unable to attend, you may send in a video audition to inspire@sparktx.org
