“Spark” is a non-profit foundation operating under the guiding principle that every child should have access to a high-quality arts education regardless of financial limitations. By partnering with the community and receiving charitable and sponsorship contributions, we are able to enroll each and every student that comes through our doors. Furthermore, we believe in the importance of providing a safe place for children in the arts; a place where they can be exposed to and participate in art that is appropriate for their developing minds.
In addition to creating high-level art, our overarching goals are to:
Find Mentors and Teachers: Finding mentors with a spark of their own and a passion for their art, then creating programs and classes around these mentors, is key to igniting a love and passion in little artists.
Provide a Nurturing Environment: Each individual should be celebrated for the uniqueness that he or she offers the world. Setting high yet achievable expectations will push each child to reach his full potential and will create confident and happy adults.
Uphold the Highest Standards: We believe in setting boundaries that will help a child to feel safe to grow and learn. We strive to uphold high standards of content in our programs, modesty in costuming and dress, clean music, and a strong code of conduct. We feel that by doing this we can create an optimal environment for families to feel confident that their children are learning and growing in positivity, confidence, kindness, modesty, and all other worthy values, in conjunction with developing their talents. We celebrate families and want to add value to their lives and not stretch them too thin. We are closed for business on Sundays to honor family time.
Offer Diversity in Programming: As we grow, we have plans to implement many additional programs to cater to the many sparks that exist in the human spirit. Areas such as songwriting, poetry, visual art, and photography are on our future drawing board, based on future funding and capacity.
Award Scholarships and Tuition Assistance: We are dedicated to the belief that exceptional artistic and educational opportunities should not be limited due to financial means. Thus, we are committed to providing those opportunities to as many children as we can, regardless of their ability to pay.
